Brighton's Original Ale House
A village pub in the heart of Brighton, we’ve been pouring ale on Surrey Street since 1854. Once home to the Hilton Twins and more recently Dark Star Brewery, we’re now an independently ran Free House, bringing you 22 taps of the freshest beer and cider.
Our Beer
For almost 30 years our first love has been real ale. We keep 7 lines of fresh, cask conditioned beer, and 3 naturally still ciders. The hand pumps now sit alongside 12 keg taps dispensing a wide range of beer from the best independent breweries in the UK, Czech Republic, and Bavaria.
